The mission of the Canadian Institute of Mass Communication (CIMC) is to promote international research and training in convergent Mass Media Communication technologies. CIMC focuses on developing educational strategies that keep pace with the contemporary new-media revolution, and aims to meet the diverse communication needs of an ever-evolving global community.

In the field of Distance Education, CIMC collaborates with partner organisations in building a culture of lifelong learning; building on appropriate eLearning strategies,  applying best practices and user-centric focus.

Through international affiliations, the Institute explores the possibilities of technology-enabled learning, and discovers new opportunities for skills development.

In the area of developmental communication, CIMC's mission is to foster international collaboration in media education, and to facilitate and promote Capacity Building and Technology Transfer.

The Institute is familiar with interactive learning issues and strategies; and is proficient in working with a variety of contents, and delivering appropriately to diverse target groups. Professionals associated with CIMC have vast experience with nonlinear information design, sound and animation techniques for web-based multimedia, together with hands-on understanding of current newmedia production tools.
